It’s gaming laptop week on AOTS, and Kevin and Olivia give us a review of Alienware’s M11X, to tell us if Alienware is just as good in a bite-sized version as it is in the family size. For more from Gadget Pr0n, go here: g4tv.com
I’ve been using this computer for a few months now and I love it. Plays every game I threw at it but I doubt it would play metro 2033. It’s a must for students or for people who work away from home alot. Plays x264 HD content no problem. I would get 1 year complete care. The sales and customer service sucks, but tech and complete care is great. Games I use on it include Aion, Battlefield Bad Company 2, NFS Shift, Dirt 2, MW2, GTR Evolution, RE2, I also own M15x but never use it anymore.M11x rulz
@Nenyana You also have to remember that not everyone can afford the damn M15x, and some people actually want a laptop they can carry around and occasionally game on. Personally I don’t give a rat’s ass about games on PCs these days, most of the titles I like are a couple years old, however my comp can’t even handle those because it’s so old. To me, the M11x is a HUGE step up, and I’ll take the next step up when I feel the need to. But for the price? This can’t be beat.
Alienware are very clever. Once the novelty of this laptop wears of , you will wish you just got a 15” with a GTX 285M or the 5870 and an i7. For the smaller size, you miss out and compromise in a lot of things. People talk about plugging this into big screens and gaming but they overestimate the power of its GPU.
Cant wait to get this. I dont care what anyone else says I mean “Oh it has a small screen and no dvd drive…” Yeah. Get your as an HD TV or external monitor to play on, and get an external dvd drive if you dont have steam for some reason. DAMN! XD
smooth gameplay on mw2 on all settings high in HD for $1,200? Yes PLEASE!
the black frames are a killer they could have easily expanded the screen. why does it have to say ALIENWARE at the bottom of the screen just use that space for larger lcd
Looks great. The M11x is a little beast. I ordered a base model with 4 gigs ram. Then I purchased my own SSD (solid state drive) and installed myself. I bench almost as high as the su7300s and saved 100 bucks to put towards a nice SSD. The m11x is amazing. See all my posts in the notebook review forums for benchmarks and game details. The su4100 gets just as much FPS in games as the su7300. Look closely at the game benchmarks. Best wishes, StevenX

@audadvnc you can get dvd external pretty cheap nowadays. Beside the lack of dvd player onboard really save the battery life a lot
@Exestenz yeah, about billion years ago
@bodenga the screen is 16:9, so it has to stay like that
