will crash on you someday soon if it hasn’t already you can suck a little more life out of it by wrapping it in a towel to heat up the chips so that they make a contact again but still sucks lost wifi all together use ethernet. Great concept design faulty hardware.

Hi, all HP laptops got the same problem, BUT, it is not motherboard and not Graphics card either, it is heat sink , Can you believe it the heat sink part which is supposed to take heat out of graphics card DOES NOT EVEN Touch THE CHIP, HP DID IT SO UNPROFESSIONALLY SO the graphics card gets heated up and at the end stops working, SO PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY HP THEY HAVE MORE LAPTOPS TO COME WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
mine broke too. but whatever he said about performance of it is not wrong. The problem was NVIDIA graphic chip. You paid 1800? wow.
I LOVED this laptop when it WORKED!!!! but 1st i lost the wi-fi( like everyone) then when i would try to turn it on and the lights would light up for like 5 secs then it would shut down(like 1600+ other people) now it will turn on but there will be nothing on the screen. there is a petion online to get reimburst for our laptops there are over 1600 signatures on it but HP fails to reconize it is there mothereboard, nuvida, and the laptop overheating. DO NOT GET THIS LAPTOP

True, what a great scam and ripoff. Hp and nvidia made millions of dollars from this scam. i´ll never buy Hp again, i recommend everybody do as i am.

at 13 months of use mine died.
THIS IS A DEFECTIVE LAPTOP. There is a compatibility issue with the NVIDIA wireless card, Eventually the wireless & laptop itself will stop working. thousands of people who have bought these laptops are experiencing these problems right now only to find out that they are out of warranty. And HP won’t acknowledge that there is even a problem. Search all the forums for the Tx1000 series and you’ll see. This laptop needs a recall but HP with its subclass quality & parts now gives subclass service.
This laptop is problematic from day one. Hard Drive issues, then video card issues…and after having it for 13 months, it won’t even start-up. Good going HP. (FYI: HP won’t stand behind this product…if you try and complain about it even 1 day out of warranty, you’re screwed.)
GPU motherboard overheating issue. HP won’t acknowledge it. It works GREAT until you hit 8-14 months from purchase at which point it falls apart from the inside.
i have the lesser version of this laptop, it looks almost identical except that it doesnt have the fingerprint reader and it doesnt have touchscreen, though the screen still rotates. strange.. what use is that?
My dvd drive doesnt work, and this may sound stupid but the stupid stylus doesn’t fit in the little place on the notebook!
I have this computer and I think it works great. As for the tablet, it is a matter of getting used to, and now I use it all the time to take notes or even draw a picture, lol.
I love this computer, very light, very stylish, very functional.
Wow you’re lucky. I had to fight with HP for 2 months just so they would even acknowledge the problem.
The problem is a faulty Nvidia card (google “Nvidia defective” for more info) which causes overheating on the motherboard.
I wish I never had problems with mine. My SD card slot broke. The card wouldn’t click into place anymore. And then just recently, it wouldn’t turn on. All of the lights would turn on, but the screen would stay black. Tried a couple times throughout the day and luckily turned back on so I backed it up. Talked to HP and they said that is common with the series (the not turning back on), so I sent it to them and got it fixed. It seems fine now, but I’m sure I’ll have more problems in the future.
I have never had a problem with this computer and its going on its 2ed year. I have had some driver problems but thats a windows things. im a college student and this computer goes with me everywhere. way better then carrying around some of the bigger ones
