i dont care about the drive processor or anything with it, give that windows 98 and have it running windows 98 games well and i would buy that instantly
This sucks! Why don’t kids get the netbook installed with windows 7? I got it and it’s super fast! I really don’t like that laptop because I don’t even think you can get on the damn internet and download any stuff!!
What I meant was that aid, educational or otherwise, should not be stopped because of adversity. Things aren’t always claimed by militia or warlords. I realise you weren’t generalising here btw. It’s important that people try. Often denial of education and freedom of thought, or the imposition of a specific set of ideals, is one of the biggest tools in the “men with ak47s” arsenal. You can find out how to do just about anything via the internet. Why not?
Twisted how? Who assisted developing European nations that were war-torn both internal and external? Our assistance has been stated repeatedly to often become the reason for conflict. We take medicine and local militants steal or claim it. We send U.N. with the backwards principal of protecting things without engaging in combat… As I said, I love the idea, I really hope that it works. I guess we can always hope that people just stop being violent?
They will be used as a teaching aid and a learning tool. Come on! Governments are implementing this, you don’t think that they’d actually overlook something like that would you? If they’re implementing it nationally you’d expect they are confident it will at least help. Obviously it can’t be a replacement for teachers. Think!
Because you have to keep sending books and pencils and they are far more bulky and expensive than these laptops. Now imagine sending one consignment of laptops and a server with some hard drives full of books through a wartorn nation. Now compare that to sending many consignments of paper which will run out and need replacing and many books which can be lost forever rather than renewed from a secure online repository. Your comment is naive and defeatist.
