Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United States, Hillary Clinton, arrived in Russia Thursday for talks on disarmament and meets with Quartet Middle East International.

Hillary arrived at the Moscow airport at 04:30 GMT. There, he will meet with Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, to discuss bilateral issues, which are expected to focus on efforts to agree on a new disarmament treaty the U.S. and Russia.

Regarding the Middle East Quartet meeting, a spokesman for the U.S. State Department said the Quartet will show international support for indirect negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians. “The quartet meeting had a great opportunity to show international support for efforts to promote indirect negotiations and to revive the peace process movement,” said spokesman Philip Crowley, Wednesday.

Pantauan okezone di luar salah satu hanggar PT Pindad, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Bandung, Jawa Barat, Sabtu (8/12/2007), terlihat gelaran jenis alutsista dari terkecil hingga panser.

“Kapasitas Pindad untuk SS-2 adalah 3.000 unit per tahun. Thailand dan Singapura juga kerap memesan jenis senjata ini,” ujar Dede bangga.

Menurutnya, 70 persen pasokan senjata milik TNI adalah produksi Pindad. Sedangkan, 30 persen lainnya disupport dari luar negeri. Untuk komponen material bahan dasar senjata, Pindad memang masih menggunakan impor dari Eropa terutama Jerman. “Kebanyakan material yang digunakan dari Jerman sangat berkualitas. Sebab, dari dalam negeri belum memadai,” tutup Dede lagi.

The Indian air force has suffered its first loss of a Sukhoi Su-30MKI multirole fighter, with one of its aircraft having crashed in Rajasthan state on 30 April.

The fighter’s two-man crew ejected around 70km (130nm) south-east of Jaisalmer at around 10:30 local time during a routine training sortie, the air force says. “Wg Cdr S V Munje survived the crash, [but] Wg Cdr P S Nara succumbed to his injuries,” it adds.
